Arrival at Ngamba Island Sanctuary
Upon arrival at the sanctuary, you will be directed to the visitor’s center where you will be introduced to the project, its history, residents and their plight. On each of the two types of day visits (half day and full day), you will receive a personal orientation by a chimpanzee caregiver and view a feeding of the chimpanzees from the visitors’ raised platform area along the edge of the sanctuary fence at a close distance as they eat, play, groom and feed each other. Other wildlife to look out for are monitor lizard on water, the black headed weavers, and spur winged lapwings, African open billed storks, Egyptian goose and many more species.
Please Note: For the morning session you will return to the land at 2:00pm and for the afternoon session you start at 11 am return to the main land at 6:00pm.
Travelling back on land
Have a stopover at the Entebbe equator to enjoy an experience as the boat is pushed to the north and South Pole although it will tend to keep in one position. Later the boat will drop you off from where you started from or to the nearest docking point.
